A recently opened CBD store ran into trouble with the authorities after their products were found to contain a controlled substance.
Shelby County investigators have issued a clear notice to the public after arresting Harry Autry, the owner of The CBD Store on Highway 280. “CBD in the state of Alabama is illegal”, stated Captain Clay Hammac from the Shelby Country Drug Enforcement Task Force. He further added that, “Marijuana in the state of Alabama is illegal.”
The investigators had their eyes on The CBD Store run by Harry Autry since it commenced its operations during the summer of 2018.
Autry earlier claimed in an interview that all the products put on sale had been tested and verified by agencies. He had claimed, “We can provide a certificate of analysis for all of our stuff with the exact content in it.”
He said that his company had got all the products tested and claimed to be free from THC. However, it is these products that have put Harry Autry behind the bars despite the claims made by him.
The investigators claim that they have identified numerous products within the store that were tested by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences. The results confirm the presence of a controlled substance in the product being sold by the store run by Autry.
His store was the first of its kind in Birmingham and opened up in July 2018. The store currently is closed with Autry now being charged by the authorities for not abiding by the state laws. He has been charged by the authorities on account of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and also for distribution of a controlled substance.
This event makes it quite clear that the authorities are not going to let anybody play with the law when it comes to the sale of marijuana. Although there is news about the sale of legal weed to gain a quick pace in certain states, the residents of Alabama will have to wait for the authorities to offer their approval.
