Have you heard of the latest addition to the menu of a coffee shop in Traverse City, Michigan? These CBD oil-rich drinks are claimed to heal everything from anxiety to arthritis.
Dan Guy, the owner of Espresso Bay, is being lauded for his signature creation, a CBD Oil latte.
CBD is a legal cannabinoid derived from hemp and is known to contain less than 0.3 percent THC, which is not classified as marijuana. THC is an active ingredient in weed that is known to produce psychoactive effects in users just like recreational marijuana.
The best thing about CBD oil is that it does not produce any psychoactive effects and the component does not show up in any drug test.
As per the current laws in Michigan, there is no need to purchase any ID to purchase CBD. You must, however, consult your doctor before consuming CBD or its derivatives to remain on a safe side.
Proponents of CBD oil are of the opinion that it has miraculous healing effects and effectively combats mental disorders, obesity, anxiety, depression, and pain.
Espresso Bay is claiming to infuse 5 to 15 mg of CBD oil in smoothies, lattes, and CBD coffees. Dan Guy, the owner of the café stated, “I myself have been taking it for two years because I have an autoimmune disease.”
He further added that he truly believes that this infusion can help a lot of people suffering from chronic pain. He is making this infused drink available to others because he wants them to benefit like him.
The infused drink is not just arrived at with any random combination but there’s careful thought behind it.
Guy said that he tried several iterations to get the recipe right. His new recipe has CBD oil along with steamed milk, honey, and cinnamon. The other ingredients are said to balance the earthy flavor of the CBD Tincture.
He found that coffee balances CBD oil in the best way possible – Coffee offers caffeine boost and the oil offers a natural calming effect.
CBD oil has no reported adverse effects. It is usually known to produce a sense of calm soon after its consumption. It does not impair your function or driving and Ii is legal statewide.
The regulatory bodies are yet to identify how to regulate it though. CBD is legally hemp under the US Farm Bill.
“As long as you are under the 0.3 percent threshold it is considered legal”, said Charles Orns, who is the co-owner of Urban Meds Caregivers in Traverse City.
He went on to say that he is glad that CBD would not be labeled as marijuana so that many people can benefit from it.
“CBD oil should be regulated by authorities such as the FDA so that people do not end up misusing it. Currently, the legislators need a solid framework for defining and regulating the same.”
